OUR APPROACH...

It is very important to us that we develop a close relationship with you, the parents, to ensure your child is given all the encouragement and support they need to reach their full potential.

We like to arrange a visit for you and your child in the final weeks of the term before they start. This is important for them, and you, to see the nursery at work and meet the staff. It will also help to reduce those ‘first day’ nerves.

When your child starts with us we pay very careful attention to how they settle in and how well they integrate. All our pupils are continually assessed and if we have any concerns we will talk to you about them. Equally, if you have any issues you would like to discuss, please talk to us at any time.
Your child's Records of Achievement cover the DfEE advised curriculum for the Foundation Stage, which is in six sections;
Personal, Social and Emotional Development
Communication, Language and Literacy
Mathematical Development
Knowledge and Understanding of the World
Physical Development
Creative Development

Much of your child’s time at the nursery is spent with one member of staff, which ensures continuity and helps your child settle in as quickly as possible, as well as helping them feel happy and secure.

Your child’s ‘Key Worker’ will keep careful records charting their progress on a termly basis and we are happy to discuss these with you at any time.

The School on the Green was inspected by OFSTED in June 2004 and we were delighted to be awarded a Good, which is the highest rating available.

The full report is downloadable from the OFSTED web site, but some of the comments were, "Good behaviour is valued and staff are good role models", and "Staff are attentive to (children's) needs, respond to their interests and praise and encourage them."
